Therefor Group is proud to celebrate a standout evening at the Property Council of Australia’s 2026 Queensland People in Property Awards, recognising both individual excellence and the strength of our collective culture.
Recognising Industry Leadership
We are delighted to congratulate Amy Marsden and Tom Kennedy, whose achievements reflect not only personal dedication, but a shared commitment to advancing meaningful outcomes across Queensland’s property sector.
Amy was awarded the Pathfinder Award, recognising her exceptional contribution to broadening the housing conversation and championing diverse housing solutions. With more than 25 years of leadership across government, industry and consultancy, Amy has consistently brought clarity and collaboration to complex planning challenges. Her ability to translate policy into practical, community-focused outcomes, while guiding others through reform and uncertainty, continues to shape more inclusive and forward-thinking approaches to planning.
Tom was named the 2026 Matthew Schneider Rising Star, an award that honours emerging leaders who demonstrate passion and commitment to driving positive change. Tom’s contribution to advancing conversations around housing choice and affordability reflects both his technical capability and his collaborative approach. In true form, Tom credits his peers and colleagues for their role in his journey – highlighting the importance of teamwork and shared purpose in achieving industry progress.
“This was a true team effort – opening the doors to more affordable housing with our small working group – Cathy Uechtritz, Jackson Hills, Natalie Rayment, Tom Kennedy – to keep pushing and advocating to let affordable housing happen on church land.” – Amy Marsden

A Culture Worth Celebrating
In addition to these individual honours, Therefor Group was proud to receive a Judges Commendation in the People First Award for our Culture Committee.
This recognition acknowledges organisations that deliver innovative and impactful initiatives to enhance employee experience, wellbeing and inclusion. The commendation reflects the Committee’s sustained efforts to build a culture that has evolved organically over many years – one that is truly shaped by everyone, for everyone.
Key initiatives such as ThereforHER, now in its seventh year, and our Reconciliation Action Plan demonstrate a genuine and ongoing commitment to equity, inclusion and meaningful social impact. The Committee’s work also extends beyond the organisation, encouraging our team to apply their expertise to address broader social challenges – reinforcing the important role our industry plays in shaping stronger communities.

A Collective Achievement
While awards highlight individual and team contributions, they also reflect the broader environment that enables people to thrive. At Therefor Group, we see this recognition as a testament to our shared values – collaboration, generosity, and a commitment to delivering outcomes that matter.
The People in Property Awards provided a valuable opportunity to connect with peers and celebrate the achievements of professionals across the state. We extend our congratulations to all nominees and winners who continue to push the industry forward.
