Project Overview
Therefor Group was proud to work with Akaysha Energy & Unitywater on the delivery of a battery storage facility at 26 Cribb Road, Brendale, within a lease lot on balance land in Unitywater’s existing sewerage treatment plant.
The facility will connect into the existing Powerlink South Pine Substation, providing key infrastructure to support energy efficiency, network stability, and security. The development supports the objectives of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan that seeks to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy.

Project Outcomes
Our team of planners, surveyors and drafters was involved in securing a development approval from City of Moreton Bay for this essential battery energy storage infrastructure. Working alongside our clients, Akaysha Energy and Unitywater, we created a solution that met the expectations and needs of both parties.
The development needed to allow Unitywater to continue its operation of the existing Sewerage Treatment Plant and field services, while using balance land within an established lease area for the battery storage facility infrastructure.
Our project delivery team is coordinating the streamlined delivery of the project in accordance with the development approval requirements.
Leading Change
Therefor added value by identifying planning pathways to minimise risk and streamline timeframes – part of our commitment to leading change. We evolved these strategies as the project progressed to adapt and respond to our client’s needs.
We worked with the project engineers to negotiate an outcome with Council that resolved flood mapping inconsistencies to resolve a planning conflict.
